Yes and No.
Most of my clients are private pay. Success in therapy depends on the individual therapeutic relationship, which requires emotional, intellectual, and spiritual investment. Unlike a doctor’s visit, therapy demands a significant personal commitment.
I am committed to providing quality care. I've found that clients who rely solely on insurance often make convenient choices, potentially compromising the quality of their provider. This can result in longer therapy durations and higher costs in the long run.
It's essential for clients to be intentional when choosing a provider. No therapy is better than bad therapy. While insurance is convenient, paying cash often reflects a client's serious investment in themselves and gives them more "skin in the game." It's crucial to focus on the relationship and ensure the clinician offers what you need.
I’m in-network with the following insurances:
Premera Blue Cross

Under the No Surprises Act, you have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” detailing the cost of your medical care. This applies to patients without insurance or those not using insurance.
At the start of therapy, you’ll receive a Disclosure Statement outlining the cost of each session, with services typically provided weekly until treatment ends. You can request a Good Faith Estimate before scheduling an appointment.
If your bill exceeds the estimate by $400 or more, you can dispute it. Keep a copy of your estimate for reference.

FAQs
-
• Cash pay offers more client confidentiality; there is more privacy and control for diagnosis and treatment.
• Increased flexibility to treatment options/approaches.
• Insurance doesn't cover every diagnosis.
• Clear and straightforward payment options. Deductibles for mental health can be frustrating.
• Clients can enjoy improved availability to schedule sessions.
• Clients are not restricted to listed providers that an insurance company allows. You have the advantage of choosing your “best match” in a therapist: more freedom of choice!
• Filing Claims is tedious and time consuming for both the therapist or client. Cash pay allows the focus to be on you, and not dealing with claims.

Not officially. I offer a flat rate, HOWEVER am willing to find a rate that works for you. Reach out to the clinician about what you can afford, within reason.

For determining coverage: Call the mental health benefits number on the back of your insurance card. Provide them with the CPT Billing codes listed and ask about your OON or IN deductible, any co-insurance or copays that you'd be responsible for, etc.
To determine your Out-of-Network mental health coverage, call your provider and ask the following questions:
What are my mental health benefits?
What is the coverage amount per therapy session?
How many therapy sessions does my plan cover?
How much does my insurance pay for an Out-of-Network provider?
Is approval required from my primary care physician?
